Holistic Back Pain Remedies
Many people suffer with back pain on a daily basis. Sadly, several of those people suffer in silence unnecessarily because they do not realize how easily they could gain relief. There are a number of holistic remedies for back pain. Below are the top four holistic back pain remedies one might consider.
Exercise the Core
In an average day most individuals will not utilize their core enough, and those at desk jobs may even damage their backs more with improper posture. With just 20 to 30 minutes of core exercises per day you can help to support your spine by strengthening and maintaining your back muscles.
Release Endorphins
Manufactured pain relievers are purposed to function like endorphins. Therefore, a natural alternative would be to increase your production of the endorphins and hormones that you need. Not only can they help to reduce pain, but they have also been noted to alleviate stress. A few options to consider are:
- Deep breathing and meditation
- Aerobic exercise
- Being social
- Laughing and smiling
- Eating dark chocolate
Any one of the aforementioned choices can drastically enhance your endorphins levels.
Sleep
A majority of individuals with chronic back pain issues tend to report also have sleeping disorders. Adversely, not receiving enough sleep can make back pain even worse. Along with clinical treatments, there are a few holistic alternatives that you can try to treat insomnia, such as:
- Eating healthy
- Drinking less caffeine, especially before bed
- Getting your needed amount of exercise
- Reducing stress by writing down your concerns
Stretch the Hamstrings
Along the same lines of exercising the core, stretching your hamstrings also helps to support the back by relieving stress on the lower back and sacroiliac joint. Ideally you should stretch your hamstrings at least twice a day, once in the morning and once at night.
Any of the aforementioned holistic back pain remedies can help to relieve your pain, however chronic back pain might require professional help. Consult a specialist to determine the best options for you.
